Holzer Recognizes PHIL awardee
Holzer Honors Nina Delong, CRT, Respiratory Therapist at our Gallipolis campus, with the PHIL Award. This annual award is part of The FACES Foundation’s program to recognize exemplary respiratory care. The PHIL Award is the only nationally recognized hospital-based program that honors outstanding respiratory therapists, as nominated by patients, their family members, and other caregivers.
Nina is a graduate of the University of Rio Grande and began her career at Holzer in 2013. When asked about the PHIL award, she replied, “I’m honored to receive the PHIL award. I take my job seriously and love helping people. Being a respiratory therapist is my passion.” She continued about working for Holzer, “Being at Holzer is wonderful. We help the people of our communities. It’s nice being a part of a tight knit family of healthcare workers.”
Annually, Holzer selects one respiratory therapist from the nominations received. During an award presentation, the honoree is presented with a certificate and award sculpture entitled Appreciation, which was adapted by creator MK Shannon especially for The PHIL Award.

“We are proud to partner with The FACES Foundation to recognize and honor our outstanding respiratory therapists,” said Luke Rice, MBA, RRT, Director of Respiratory Care Services, Holzer Health System. “Nina is a remarkable therapist who loves her job and her patients. She goes above and beyond for everyone she comes in contact with. We are honored to recognize her as this year’s PHIL award winner.”
