COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) this week announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded $700,000 aimed at supporting Ohio’s small businesses with expanding sales in global markets.
“Investments like these make Ohio a more desirable place for entrepreneurs to start and expand their small businesses,” said Peterson. “Our employers want to sell Ohio-made products globally. This helps companies increase sales, which boosts Ohio’s growing economy.”
Under the SBA’s State Trade Expansion Program, 306 Ohio businesses have received funding to offset costs and promote their product lines and services in international markets. With this new grant, more small businesses will be eligible to apply for the assistance through the Ohio Development Services Agency’s Export Assistance Office.
Businesses are eligible for assistance with marketing expenses of up to $12,500, under the program. The eligibility period will run through September 29, 2018.
